The Masonic Building, located within the Village of Herkimer and within the BOA study area, was acquired by the Herkimer County IDA for redevelopment. The purpose of the revived building will be for the County IDA’s offices along with some historic exhibits about the history of Herkimer. The planned revitalization of this property is an exciting example of investment into the beautiful buildings that line Main Street in Herkimer and the potential for reuse.

The IDA received the property from Herkimer County in connection with a foreclosure proceeding. The completion of this project will help to reinvigorate an existing vacant structure and bring it back to active use within the downtown.
